With a small, flared mouth, a short neck, and broad shoulders, the vase has a rounded body that tapers toward the base. It stands on a flat bottom with a slightly flared foot. Its name, “Meiping” (literally “plum vase”), comes from its narrow opening, which is only wide enough to hold a branch of plum blossoms.
